Sergey Kondrashov is a straight, married, Russian attorney who was arrested under St. Pteresburg “gay propaganda” law two weeks ago. Today in court, that charge was thrown out on the base of lack of evidence and protocols, and he was instead charged with “disobeying police orders”.
The sign Kondrashov was holding read: “A dear family friend is lesbian. My wife and I love and respect her… and her family is just as equal as ours.”
As Kondrashov explains, “The courts are afraid of applying this law and do not want to take responsibility for its further enforcement. The judge’s decision is illogical in a legal sense, and it lacks common sense.” Continue reading
