So I had this beer the other weekend when I went to a Stanford Football game. I’m a big fan of Sierra Nevada and what they brew. My love for them continues with their Flipside Red IPA. The aroma is Sierra Nevada’s trademark pine and citrus, and taste is a big dose of citrus, a little caramel, malty, coppery, and with the bitterness you expect from a good IPA. It has a medium body mouth-feel, and the carbonation level is spot-on. Once again Sierra Nevada made another delicious IPA, if you’ve never had one before I highly suggest trying it out.
The Flipside Red IPA gets a rating of 4 out of 5 baby sea otters.
Last week Swedish high jumper Emma Green-Tregaro and runner Moa Hjelmer vaulted into the public’s eye when they painted their nails rainbow in support for the LGBT community at the Track and Field Championships in Moscow.
Shortly thereafter, Anders Albertsson, general secretary of the Swedish athletics federation, was warned by the IAAF the rainbow nails are in breech of regulation and must be repainted. Green-Tregaro complied and repainted her nails red (for love) for Sunday’s competition.
Like much of the nation, if you weren’t able to go to the rally outside of the Supreme Court yesterday, there’s a great video after the jump where you can catch that experience. After things had settled for the evening, activist group GetEQUAL and the Backbone Campaign projected an image of “Marriage Equality Now” onto the Supreme Court Building itself. Seeing all the support for equality from this and red equal logos on Facebook make for a very encouraging sight.
