Today is the beginning of LGBT History Month! Every year in October, LGBT History Month highlights 31 different LGBT icons, one for every day of the month. Every icon has a video and bio detailing their importance to the fight for LGBT rights, along with downloadable flyers, images, and other resources. Hey everyone, have we got something special for you! Do you love art? Well you have the chance to go to World Wide Art Los Angeles for free! World Wide Art L.A. is an international fine arts show that will serve as a visual montage of influential fine art in 2014, as it exists across the globe.

However if their description is any indication, this isn’t going to be your run-of-the-mill art show. From their website:

“We are a different type of art show in that we are offering the floor to our exhibitors, and others who would like to be involved, as a platform to help promote Social Equality and Cultural Awareness, as well as Environmental Awareness, as it pertains to their work or organizations.”

World Wide Art L.A. will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center October 16th-19th, and they are offering free tickets. All you have to do is sign up online and print them out, but you have to use this link! Of course if you would like to buy a ticket to support the event they are only $15.

A bonus, when you visit the art show and sign in as an artist, art fan, museum member, or art collector and get a great Art book for free!

For more information about tickets or about the art show, go on over to WorldWideArtLA.com

la.pride.thunderground

The VIP tickets this year are coming with some pretty neat perks. You get entrance to Thunder Ground (skate rentals included), fast-pass entry to the festival, 2 drink tickets per day at the VIP bar & lounge, special VIP bathrooms, and a special main stage viewing area with the promise of surprised all weekend. Tickets are $65 a day or $100 for a weekend pass. For more VIP information, CLICK HERE!

CSW Co-President Steve Ganzell calls Thunder Ground an attempt to “engage both kids and kids at heart.”

“Luke and I aim to pick up the torch and pay homage to the nightclub roller rinks and infamous daytime Playboy Mansion roller skating parties of the late ’70s and early ’80s,” says Rigal. “However, in addition to ’80s excessiveness and a disco hangover, Thunder Ground will feature the best DJs in Los Angeles, from all corners of nightlife, giving DJs and skaters a chance to spin and roll bounce to their own flavor!”

Los Angeles Gay Men’s Chorus with bells on! (parody)

The Gay Men’s Chorus chapter in Los Angeles does a great little parody of Kmart’s Joe Boxer commercial. And anything that encourages me to link back to the Joe Boxer commercial, is a good thing.
