This photo was posted with the title on Reddit, and it’s just too beautiful not to share. The man in the photo replied to a comment saying:
“[...]I was so touched. And they gave it to me after I just gave a speech of how awesome they treated me post-9/20 [the day DADT was repealed]. Their words were: “Funny you should mention that. We got you a gift.”
I’m going to miss them.”
Such support, just wonderful! A downgrade in military readiness my ass!
Amidst the calls for boycotts and Orson Scott Card’s own plea for tolerence, Lionsgate Entertainment has released a statement denouncing Card’s and NOM’s position on equality, and announcing they will have a benefit premier supporting LGBT causes:
As proud longtime supporters of the LGBT community, champions of films ranging from GODS AND MONSTERS to THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER and a Company that is proud to have recognized same-sex unions and domestic partnerships within its employee benefits policies for many years, we obviously do not agree with the personal views of Orson Scott Card and those of the National Organization for Marriage. However, they are completely irrelevant to a discussion of ENDER’S GAME.
Well well, now who would’ve thunk it? Indiana is the first state to produce license plates with the logo of a LGBT organization on it!
WXIN Fox 59 reports the license plates will sport the logo of the Indiana Youth Group, an organization that advocates tolerance in schools and the community and provides a safe environment for the LGBT youngsters of Indiana. For those who donate to the Indiana Youth Group, they will be given low number plates as a ‘thank you’.
So if you’re prouder than a peacock and from the Hoosier State, be sure to show your support by getting a new license plate!
And any bets on when California or New York will hop on the bandwagon?
This was one of the first images I saw earlier today regarding the passing of visionary leader Steve Jobs…
