I absolutely love this month’s cover of The New Yorker! In case you can’t decipher who President Obama is spoon feeding the Affordable Healthcare Act too, (from right to left) it’s Ted Cruz, Michelle Bachmann, Mitch McConnell, and Speaker of the House John Boehner walking away.
For those who don’t know, seven million people have signed up for health insurance under the Affordable Healthcare Act, and that doesn’t even include the people who signed up through their state-run versions of the bill. In short, it’s been wildly successful.
The cover’s artist, Barry Blitt, gave a great comment to the magazine that truly signifies the characters for what they are, petulant children.
“I enjoyed drawing Ted Cruz, John Boehner, and Michele Bachmann as petulant children—and I especially wanted to draw an open-mouthed Mitch McConnell being spoon-fed his meds,” – Barry Blitt.
