Star Wars VII

OK.  I am officially jazzed about Star Wars 7.  I remember pumping my first and being super glad to read a few months ago that George Lucas decided to move forward and complete his epic saga.  Star Wars was originally supposed to be a trilogy of trilogies but after 6 films (the middle three and the first three) Lucas called it quits.

I remember being so devastated.  I mean, I understood, but I was devastated.  It was like watching Michael Jordan retire the…frist time.  I remember watching the interview and Lucas was very aware of the time and emotional commitment it was going to take to do another three movies and he was concerned that he wouldn’t live long enough to get to all three done.  He sold the right to Episodes VII-VIIII to Disney for an estimated $4 billion.  Cha-ching.

Jesse Plemons Star Wars Ep VIISo back to this very morning:  I am now OFFICIALLY and SUPER jazzed about Star Wars Episode VII.  J.J. Abrams is directing the film and rumor has it that Jesse Plemons, formerly of Breaking Bad, is the front-runner for one of the lead roles.  Some musing would make him a good fit for Luke Skywalker’s 25-year-old son.  Another name that is buzzing around is Benedict Cumberbatch!  Also, it is confirmed that Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford are all returning for the film!  How freakin’ cool is that!?  I think narrative is sacred with endeavors like this and bringing back the original Luke Skywalker, Princess Lea, and Hans Solo is what put me over the edge of stars-wars-fangirl-dom this morning.

I need some coffee!  Also one last thing:  Disney has announced that Star Wars 7 will debut in December 2015.
