So I get these health updates on a pretty regular basis. Maybe it’s because I’m older now or maybe because I pay more attention to them? Anyway, here are some tips for good ORAL health…hehe. No really!
Neglecting your teeth may lead to the heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and even Alzheimer’s disease. keep your pearly whites healthy with these tips:
- Get flossin’. Brushing your teeth may not be enough to fight gum disease. Flossing helps eliminate bacteria that can lead to bad breath and gum disease.
- Swish it around. Thirty seconds of rinsing with mouth wash can decrease your risk of gum disease by 60%.
- Chew on this. Studies have shown that chewing sugarless gum for 20 minutes after meals helps prevent tooth decay.
- Brush up. Use a toothbrush with soft or extra soft bristles so you don’t damage your gum tissue, and replace your brush every three months.
I had a very wise man once tell me: Mike, there are three things you want to take care of as you get older. You want to take care of your eyes, your teeth, and your feet. If you do, you can save yourself a lot of grief, pain, and expense later in life. He that hath an ear…let him hear.
