So on this side of the aisle, we are all too aware that Fox News is anti-facts, religious freedom (especially freedom from it), and generally anything that actually helps the progress of humanity. On top of that, their latest little gaffe really just brings that all home, it’s just too good not to share!
Fox News columnist Suzanne Venker used a picture of lesbian couple Lela Mc Arthur and Stephanie Figarelle to represent the image of “traditional marriage”. The irony is delicious. Figarelle and Mc Arthur were the first same-sex couple to be married on top of the Empire State Building after New York legalized same-sex marriage.
Venker’s article is titled “To be happy, we must admit women and men aren’t ‘equal’” and in it she says “It’s time to say what no one else will: Feminism didn’t result in equality between the sexes – it resulted in mass confusion. Today, men and women have no idea who’s supposed to do what.”
There really isn’t any need to read it. Her argument boils down to boys kick balls and girls play with dolls it’s their ‘natural energy’. Read at your own risk.
But back to the reason for the blog, once reporting on this genius little slice of irony started getting around, Fox News changed the “traditional marriage” image to one of the generic bathroom sign variety. As always, stay classy Fox News.
I’m surprised she could get away from her knitting and baking long enough to write about something so difficult for a little lady brain to comprehend. She must have used those new Bic For Her pens.
LOL…so true..so true!
