We miss you Adam
Former senior blogger with the old Queer Fresno Adam Growdon passed away two years ago this month. This is him and his best friend from high school Melissa Sarno. We lost Adam due to complications involving MS and I will always feel a void because he was only in his 20’s.
I’ve struggled and contemplated how we could continually honor his memory because I don’t ever want to forget him or the things he stood for personally. I was privileged to know him and I was honored to have him on my team. Upon his passing in 2011 I donated some free advertising on QF in his memory. Since we rolled up all of our local blog under Queer Landia I wondered what I’d do going forward.
I had the greatest idea today! This is one of the coolest things about being the boss. I can make executive decisions I know are just good things to do. I have decided to grant a formal one-year sponsorship to Adam’s favorite organization: The National MS Society. We will help promote the organization on QL and donate whatever resources we can to help raise some awareness for this disease.
We miss you Ace! Rest in peace.
