Today a video statement from the President was aired at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s 25th National Conference. Once again, proving President Obama is on our side, and he has not forgotten us here in queer society. From his mention of Stonewall with civil rights in his inauguration speech, to appointing a gay poet to perform the Inaugural Poem, Obama has not forgotten his promises to the LGBT community.

For years, I felt the President wasn’t really living up to his promises, but when he mentioned Stonewall in the same breath as Selma, he helped validate an entire population’s role in the civil rights movement. I’m starting to get some of that audacity back…
What did it for me was when he did that interview on national television voicing his personal support of gay marriage. That was when he win me back.
No doubt, the most supportive President ever. I just have 2 wishes. 1) That he be more vocal on Prop 8 and DOMA in regards to SCOTUS, and 2) Get off the “Up to the individual states” motto in regards to Marriage Equality.
I remember when was war in israel, he was in our sides too..
remerkable His attention to minoritu of society, no matter who’s this issue case..
Thanks for saying so Shavi!
yours trully..: )
