Anti-Gay Church Moves Into Seattle’s Gayborhood

First United Methodist Church buildingWASHINGTON: The anti-gay megachurch Mars Hill has moved it’s way into Seattle’s gayborhood, and slithered into the historic First United Methodist Church building on Fifth Avenue and Marion Street.

Tim Gaydos, the lead pastor at the new location said Mars Hill Church plans on using the new location to minister to the homeless, business people, and of course the satanic LGBT community.

“Being closer to Capitol Hill is a blessing as we are serving and ministering to those who are infected with AIDS on the hill,” said Gaydos in a release to KOMO News.

Mars Hill Church allows for gay people to attend, but they can’t become members. So of course those in the neighborhood and local LGBT rights organizations are outraged. Shaun Knittel founder of Social Outreach called Gaydos’ remarks “lower form of hate speech — ignorance speech.”

Knittel told the Daily News: “What the pastor is saying is that gay neighborhoods equal AIDS neighborhoods. That just because you’re gay or lesbian on Capitol Hill, that means you have HIV/AIDS.”

So the question is, how do you kick out a bunch of religious a-holes without infringing on their right to be there?

  1. The local divas and drag queens (and the leather daddies, too) need to start attending church every service they can… see how long that church lasts there!

  2. Disgusting. They should rally and protest every Sunday. ;-)

  3. Oh yeah..just whats needed…some more “love the sinner, hate the sin” crap.
