The Guardian recently published a surprisingly easy to read interactive map showing how far each state goes regarding equality. The darker and more complete the rainbow, the more LGBT protections.
Looking at the map it’s pretty easy to see which regions of the country really believe in protecting all citizens. We will conquer you some day, Southeastern United States.

I think these things are so deceptive because just because CA has laws and it appears we are ahead of the gay-game, we aren’t. If this same wheel were re-created to illustrate regions of CA, it would look VERY different. I am tired of being included ALL of CA. The valley is NOT like ALL of CA. Just my thoughts on the subject. Thanks Nathan though for posting it. KB
You’re welcome, thanks for reading! I agree, the valley and the rest of Central California is basically California’s own version of the bible-belt. I would be very intrigued to see a map of different municipality’s LGBT protections.

So I live in Texas….and I am originally from New England. Can you see my disgust from where you’re sitting?
I’m with Honey. I’m in Texas, and this is….there are no words!
Oh yeah, If you are in Texas, I feel your pain, Honey! Sorry. However, people don’t realize that the central part of CA is a lot like TX with higher taxes.
We have the furthest to go in the North East.
