Openly gay pro bowler Scott Norton shared a quick kiss and a loving embrace with his husband Craig Woodward after winning his second title at the World Series of Bowling Chameleon Championship. The event took place in November, but ESPN aired it on December 30th.
While it’s not shown in the video clip below, Outsports reports the ESPN announcers did refer to Woodward as Norton’s husbands or spouse, and also noted Norton came out publicly after the telecast of his 2011 victory. The kiss is quick, but the embrace between Norton and his husband is long and loving, and ESPN kept their camera on them for the whole time. Now if that’s not progress in sports I don’t know what is.
