Liechtenstien Voters Approve Gay Partnerships

A country that I have never heard of in Central Europe has approved gay partnerships. Before I go any further, please note that these registered partnerships are missing some basics rights of marriage. Gay and Lesbian couples will still be barred from adopting children and will not have access to reproductive medical services.

Now that we have that part clear, this is still an outstanding move forward. Gay and Lesbian couples will be completely equal when it comes to inheritance, taxation, immigration and social security. That may not seem like a lot, but I wish I had half of that here in the Land of the Free.

Tim McIlrath, lead singer of Rise Against teamed up with Dan Savage’s It Gets Better campaign to make a music video for “Make It Stop (September’s Children)” to send a clear message, that it gets better.  I’ve been following Rise Against since 2003, I was on a bus and a friend first made me listen to their album “Siren Song of the Counter Culture”, I fell in love with their music then, and I couldn’t be more proud to be a fan now.

Homophobic pilot makes huge mistake

A Huston based Southwestern Airlines pilot takes accidently turns his microphone on, and boradcasts his displeasure for “gays grannies and grandes” because he can’t invite any of them to his “cockpit”.  While the pilot was broadcasting his rant, he was prevent the control tower on the ground from communicating with other planes that are trying to land, and make adjustments to their flight patterns.

Eleven. I mean, think of the odds of that. I thought I was in Chicago, which was party-land. … After that, it was just a continuous stream of gays and grannies and grandes …”

Wild Malus sieversii apple in Kazakhstan

We’ve all heard the proverb, but have you ever stopped and questioned where it came from? Turns out the saying most likely originated from Wales. The earliest example found in print is in the February 1866 edition of Notes and Queries magazine.

“A Pembrokeshire proverb. Eat an apple on going to bed, And you’ll keep the doctor from earning his bread.”

Google, showing some love.

Google is honoring LGBT Pride month by adding some color! If you type “gay”‘, “lesbian” or any other LGBT related search term a rainbow image appears next to the search bar.

Google has been very supportive of the LGBT community. First we were touched when

Dan Savage made an It Gets Better video that made us cry, then Google made us proud again when they made an It Gets Better commercial. Google also gave $50,000 to the Trevor Project. Google, you have been a great supporter of Gay Rights, and we thank you.

We also can’t forget the adorable Android Pride shirts that were made!
